Banca Transilvania is providing €71.4 million to support development of the Eco Sun Niculești photovoltaic park, the first Romanian renewable-generation investment by Entek Elektrik.
The project’s total investment is estimated at €100 million. Once completed in Dâmbovița County, it is expected to have approximately 205MW of installed capacity.
€71.4m Facility Supports Construction of a 205MW Asset
Banca Transilvania describes the transaction as one of Romania’s largest bilateral financings for a photovoltaic project under development. The scale of the facility indicates that the project has progressed beyond early development towards a financing structure capable of supporting construction.
Eco Sun Niculești will add a substantial utility-scale asset to Romania’s renewable portfolio. Its location and capacity also make grid connection, delivery planning and long-term project economics important parts of execution.
“Projects of this scale contribute to strengthening energy independence and modernising the Romanian economy.”

Entek Establishes Its First Romanian Renewable Project
Entek is the renewable-energy business of Koç Group and operates an energy portfolio of about 550MW in Türkiye. The Romanian development gives the company a sizeable entry point into another Central and Eastern European electricity market.
The investment is being made through Entek Elektrik Üretimi A.Ş. Its principal shareholder is Türkiye Petrol Rafinerileri A.Ş., or Tüpraş, linking the project to one of Türkiye’s largest industrial groups.
Domestic Bank Capital Supports Cross-Border Expansion
Utility-scale renewable projects depend on long-duration debt as they move from permits and development into procurement and construction. A Romanian lender supporting an international sponsor can reduce transaction friction while keeping local financing expertise within the project structure.
For Banca Transilvania, the loan strengthens its role in strategic infrastructure and energy-transition investment. For Entek, the facility provides a platform from which it may evaluate additional Romanian renewable opportunities.
Romania’s Solar Pipeline Gains a Large New Project
The transaction demonstrates continued lender appetite for mature solar projects with defined capacity, sponsors and development plans. It also shows how cross-border developers can combine their operating experience with domestic financial institutions.
At approximately 205MW, Eco Sun Niculești is large enough to make a visible contribution to renewable generation. Successful delivery would broaden Entek’s European footprint and add another sizeable photovoltaic asset to Romania’s changing power system.
